Minor Variations

Mother squeezed my wrist which meant I must carry on talking.

There are ten major hand gestures and three combined signs.
I use two minor variations to tell her that I understand.

On the second or third call, she let it ring without answering.

The same fingers that confer a blessing can point to the window.

I had hoped that she would pick up the receiver.

No two hands are alike. Her left hand holds the affected arm.

What she leaves out describing are the days of the week.

She points too much but no one has told her to stop.
